Steering Clunk/Bang

My newly completed driveway now means that I have some serious full lock to lock steering maneuvers to get in and out .....

This has helped uncover a wee problem, namely some serious clunking, banging,when going to full right lock quickly .....

Car just sailed through its MOT (Z4Mr) a coupke of weeks ago so Im assuming the tie rod ball joints are sound ....

Im thinking steering rack, or the power assist thingy .....

anybody had this before ?

I was just thinking out loud, if the hydraulic power control fluid was low, would that cause the pump to grab air and make noise .....?

teamemmenracing, hey, i think i get this also, but going round multi-storey car parks. If i slow down, its ok, but normal driving makes a loud bang...

Never heard it any other time than this. Z4MR

Just been going through my previous posts ........
If I needed any proof that Alzheimers was setting here .... Here it is in black and white ....

It seems that I had the same clunking when I picked the car up 2 years ago ..... And it went away .....

Similar situation, when I bought the car it had been in the showroom for 2 months, standing still, recently its been in storage for 2 months whilst I had my driveway done ..... Hmmmmmmmmm
