steering angle sensor position

Hi guys! I am about to buy a steering angle sensor from a forum member. we are wondering if the sensor lies inside the airbag slip ring as based on the part number we see the part is the airbag slip ring and I assume the sensor is inside that as a complete unit. I would prefer to change the whole unit to avoid breaking anything..Any ideas? :?

Well i saw that already. however, when the other forum member put appart the pieces he found the a part with part no. 61-31,-8 376 445.9q which from what i found is the airbag slip ring. I am now wondering whether the sensor lies inside that part as he could not locate a piece with any of the part numbers that are provided in realoem.com for the sensor.

Thats the part I removed, after taking the steering wheel off.....looks like the sensor your after is on the lower part of the steering column...I'll take a looksy and get back to you.

Can you see anything like that anywhere in the steering column?

Parts no. should be anyone of :
37 14 6 763 444
32 30 6 767 218
32 30 6 783 082
32 30 6 793 313

as the part was discontinued 3 times and replaced by another part no. each time
