Steering and power issues and SEL light on! Help needed

I've owned my Z4 for 6 weeks and about 2 weeks ago I went to start my car and it wouldn't turn over. Got a jump and she drove fine for over 2 weeks. On Friday I started her up and I immediately felt a stiffness in the steering wheel. I know there is an issue with early model Z4s in hot conditions but it was 55 degrees outside and the heater hadn't been running for over 24 hours. I was still able to drive her to my destination and when I started up again the steering was back to normal. Since I'm still under the indie dealers 2 month warranty I decided to take a drive over to the dealer. When I went to start the battery was dead. I know the NHTSA denied a recall for the steering issue but I've also read that some owners have intermittent power losses. After the last jump start the service engine soon light came on. Bmw has had it since yesterday morning and I still haven't gotten a call. The dealer I bought it from won't cover a battery or the steering column issue. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Could try a battery change, if its on the original batter?

I'm hoping that's all it is but BMW has had it for over 3 day and I can't even get a phone call back. They seem to be severely understaffed for the number 1 luxury car seller in the U.S. When I spoke to the service manager on Monday he said that I shouldn't take much stock in the steering issue claims on the forums. So I guess he's stating that all of the people who experience the stiff steering issues are just lying for the hell of it.

Yeah sorry to hear that. I would try to get the car back and see if a battery change helps
