Std leather seats vs Sports seats

Has anyone got a picture of sports seats and standard seats side by side? or picture of both to compare?

M sport have adjustable knee supports, wider shoulders, and adjustable bolsters as in the red seats.

Cream ones are SE seats.

From what I have read, for some reason only some of the M sport seats have lumbar support, mine does (its a 2014) both driver and passenger,so whether that came in later, with the 2013 facelift I am not sure,

There are some SE (standard) seats advertised on Ebay in Germany with lumbar support, so it must of been an option at some point (maybe not for the UK market?). They are from a 2011 car, spec as follows;

BMW Z4 E89 LEATHER SEATS
459 SEAT ADJUSTMENT, ELECTR. WITH MEMORY
494 SEAT HEATING FOR DRIVER / PASSENGER
LUMBAR SUPPORT

I'm sceptical... How is the lumbar support controlled? there doesn't appear to be anything on the side of the seats that is different from the M-Sports ones (which doesn't have lumbar support). You sure they are not being confused with bolster? Plus I'd be very surprised if the SE seats has something better than the M-Sports ones...

Actually there are two lumbar switch options..this one..with lots of electric other adjustments and mine which has a simple rocker switch in the location to the left of the 4 way lumbar switch!

On mine I have a simple rocker switch with a left right action no up down option that resides in the area where in the picture there is a cut out rectangle to the left of the l/r up/down rocker switch NOT the main seat switches ..

me too.. on mine its the bolster not the lumbar support. I'm assuming that lumbar is behind your back, not on the side...but I can see that the 4 way switch probably does both!

Back in July 2012 it was an optional extra at £245 on all SDrives (both driver & passenger seats)

Looked at one yesterday with the M seats, bloody dealers drove to Banbury after being told it was excellent only to find a bloody great scrape along the osf wing and scabby wheels. Grrrrr, still test drove it and fell in love so now on the look out for an E89 with black leather M seats

I agree with you that it is just for the bolster adjustment, or thats all it does on ours.
Is it possible that this can also adjust the lumbar and if it can how can you adjust the bolsters and lumbar independently
