Still think the Z4 looks better but the SLC has a better(softer day to day ride).
Just done over 1k miles so had a bit of fun today in sports plus mode.
Feck me!! I know it's a diesel but it fairly shifts. Feels quicker than the last one with the new 9 speed box.
Problem with low down torque coming off roundabouts, the problem being the stupid grin as the thing goes sideways for fun.

Almost identical to the 2.3 Z I had 6. something to 60 and about 150.
But it's the total difference on how power goes down from 1.5k revs constantly where the Z came on song after 5k.
I'm completely ignoring the lovely sound the Z used to make up there with it's straight 6.

Here we focus on what has been the best-selling model in the car's old SLK guise: the 250 d diesel. Its combination of decent pace and low running costs were what made it popular in the past, and that combination is even more attractive this time around. The SLC 250 d offers 201bhp and a 0-62mph time of 6.6sec, yet officially manages 70.6mpg and emits a company-car friendly 114g/km of CO2.

It's the AMG line with unrated suspension etc. You can individually alter, steering suspension or engine from settings etc in dynamic mode.

Been lusting after one of these for sometime now and interesting to hear your views comparing back to back. Particularly glad to hear the suspension is kinder! As has been suggested, 0 to 60 is very reasonable indeed and it's a struggle to beat the torque a diesel provides. Be most interested in a longer term report but sounds as if you are well pleased already.

I've been handed my wife's white slc 43amg due to her work rules , I think they are great little things , I just wished she chose your colour as it looks great and now I'm driving a white one I've never witnessed as much aggression by other blokes !
The 9 speed box is great but a little to much to keep up with when pressing on :driving:
There's no such thing as a dark side in small , convertable sports cars , they are all great

Enjoy your SLK OP.

Strangely I did the opposite - sold a 123d when I bought my Z4C!

123d was quick (also 6. something for 0 to 60) and allegedly up to 64.2 mpg (in La-La-Land), but as soon as I gave the Z4C some beans I really didn't want the 123d any more!

To be fair, what you use the car for probably has quite a bearing on your preference! When I bought the 123d I was doing business miles and had a car allowance, but that had finished before I got the Z4C.

It's our second after the Z had an SLK 250d for 3 years.
This one is better in a lot of areas from the last version.
And I know this might not go down well on a "enthusiast driving thing" but it's a lot more comfortable day to day than the Z4 (last one and this one is more so, though only a short time yet)
I had the 296 alloys on 19" cracked, I had the rear lights full of water.
The last SLK had nothing wrong for 3 years and was just a more pleasant drive. No crashing or banging over our bad roads. This was a pleasant change. Who needs a dynamic ride day to day?
(Mibbee in getting old)
The newer SLC interior is better than the SLK as is the more aggressive styling and the Apple car play is fantastic as the interior ambiant lighting.
And the exterior puddle lights that I didn't know we had ( massive MB badge shines on the ground projected from the door mirrors at night. )
