I had the H&R cat back with X pipe and they was noisy....

Great for a blast but ear bleeders for any kind of long trip...

What about having electronic valves fitted ? Great for all occasions then..
 
I'd have kept it. The only worry I'd have for a long road trip with RPIs would be police not drone. Can they stop you for excessive noise? Here they can.

If drone is bad I just shift down a gear and the revs increase a bit. Or just stay off the highway and go the long way round. :driving:

I've seen stuff about the Swiss border guards not allowing people through and the Swiss police being quite harsh on 'too loud' exhausts and handing out large fines

Just to avoid any confusion from the header, opt for Stay (exhaust) and if that means go (as in Mrs) you then don't need to seek any more opinions! Job jobbed! You know it makes sense :evil:
 
On the whole sad, I use it so little normally that the sound adds to the novelty and enjoyment of driving it.

However a long trip would of been a killer.

So my new M arrived on Monday (yes, yes, pics are on their way when I get a chance) and it came with an RPi exhaust fitted. Honestly I don't know how anybody can stand it! I'm all for a nice exhaust note, but this is absolutely mental and not in a good way - it's kind of ruining my experience! The 15 min commute to work is bad enough - I wouldn't even consider driving for hours with it.

Fortunately I've found an M Coupe owner who wants to swap for his stock exhaust so he's dropping around tomorrow for me to do :)

My car has an AFe intake, so I fully expect that it combined with the stock exhaust will make me quite happy!
