Stay debadged or not?

That you Paul?

If it's the car you bought from Eastern, then I removed the badges myself. It was a personal taste thing, but IMO those who knew what they were looking at would know anyway, and those that didn't, wouldn't care!

Ironically, I thought the "///M" badges looked too similar to what you might find plastered to the back of a 318, so I took them off.

If the car came fitted with dedicated "Z4M" badges I'd probably have left them on.

Hope you're enjoying the car :)

Yes it's me. I got the car shipped down from Eastern to a dealer in Hungerford. Great car, just what I was after - definitely worth waiting to get the right one I was after.Picked it up last weekend and I've done about a 1000 miles in it, was concerned it would be too much for a daily driver after reading all over the internet that it's too much everyday, but I think it's a perfect as a daily driver after coming from Lotus for a few years.

The thing about them being the kind of badges the halfords brigade sticking on their cars is what puts me off, but it just looks as though it's missing something. I think I might add on the side badges but not the back badges. But then again I know what it is so thats all that matters, after being told at work this week by a colleague that he has a diesel M5 (and he really didn't get waht I was saying about it not being), I think I might just give up trying to compete...

Badges on.
I considered debadging immediately after buying, but once I realised how few Z4 M's there were on the planet, decided to keep it original and badged.

I'd say put a badge on, a "2.0i" like me. Then let the highway fun begin!!

Anything from a golf GTI to a vanquish would try to push you out from the right lane, let them pass... and gun it! Too bad I can't see their constipated faces hahahah

Again not an M owner, but echo sammyz's point - looks good with or without. If you do want to put the badges back on, I would only buy the genuine ones from a dealer (for correct size etc..) You could always spray them black if you wanted to..

Here's the real question...are you single or married? 99% of people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 2003 2.0 and a 2008 M...but women recognize the M badge! So it depends on if you want to brag about your status or be subtle :P

Disclaimer: I make no claims as to the "quality" of woman you'll meet if she cares that much about the car you drive. But I do suggest that she at least be very hot!

My 3.0L is de-badged and I like it like that, but I love the ///M badge and part of the pride of ///M ownership for me would HAVE to be having the badges on the car.

I wouldn't bother to put the badges on if they are not already on the car, but by the same token I wouldn't take them off either. I think it's nice to have an ///M on the side so people know why the car looks (and sounds/moves) a bit different to other zeds 8)

if i had an ///M it would defo be badged. The only reason i keep the badges on my 3.0 is so people dont think its a 2.0 !.

Plus the constant hairdresser jokes normally stop when they see it has a 3.0 engine.

I took the rear badge off mine, it looks odd just sort of stuck there in the middle of nowhere. I left the side badges in place for now but they might come off later too.

Well car is now badged again. Decision was taken out of my hands after working away for the week to find the missus had gone online, got the part numbers, found a dealer giving discounts on another forum, ordered and had them waiting for me when I got back. Rude to not fit them after that :D

I've also mentioned I'm thinking of CSL's but I don't think they'll be in the garage when I get back this week, can hope though

Anyone have issues with ghost badges still lingering around? If I look where the badge is supposed to be and look at an angle, I can still see the silhouette of the badge. Anyone using removal stuff afterward to help with this? No matter how much I buff or wax it, it's still there.

Have you clayed the area, then gone over with a proper polish, not a filler? Waxing will only protect whats left behind, making it harder to get off

This could be the result of paint fade. If the badges were removed after an extended time of exposure, the protected paint under the badges would not have aged/faded as much as the unprotected paint.
