Startup ritual?

For me owning a car like this is awesome in every way! One of the most important aspects of owning my car is to have the feeling of being really anal about the maintanance. (Is this the correct way to express myself?)

To my question, after a long wintersleep it's time to bring my loved one to life. What do you guys do to keep her in mint condition both engine wise and body wise at first startup?..

Going for a really long run? Start and let idle for some time? Some additives to fuel? Drive like hell? <-- Hard not to! :). Change oil, airfilter? Check tyrepressure...

When you say first startup, do you mean after laying her up for the winter?

If so, I just check all tyre pressures, start her up and drive.

They're so solid they really don't need any special treatment in my opinion when you start them back up, just drive :driving:

Bodywise, mine is washed with the Two Bucket Method and waxed regularly, keeps her looking nice :)

Agreed. Do not need to idle for any time, just drive easy until it's fully warmed up. If any maintenance is due near the time of storage, I think it's best done before storage, but no need to do any scheduled maintenance unless it's actually time or actually needed. Similar with wash and wax, best done before storage, but drive enough afterwards to dry everything out. And again, don't need to do it unless it needs it.
