How many years until the Z4MR is tax free?

40 years old before it can be classified as tax exempt, although you can apply for exemption once the car is 25 years old on the basis it will not be driven that much.... Still another 11-12 years for most of our Zeds! :(
Not sure I will last that long.

I think that`s a bit harsh . They need all the money they can get so that they can continue doing a wonderful job repairing the pot holes again and again and again and again .....................

Damn you quoted me before I re-edited my post to correct it!

I misread that for classic cars older than 25 years you could apply for tax exemption - this is incorrect - it's just 40 years old so it would seem :(

Yep, it sucks.

Another one of my motorbikes is now tax free though, so that helps. A little :headbang:

Is that an electric bike?
Rob

RD400 Daytona two stroke smoke machine :) ULEZ compliant too.

It’s only ULEZ compliant became the testing machine doesn’t work when it’s covered in oil

Its the only way to make everybody shift into electric vehicles, price petrol/diesel vehicles off the road. :(

Yep, i think they’ve increased the tax on my motorbike as well - thieving barstewards
You gonna go for the £1.84 a month option Rob, just to help with cash flow??

Then start putting taxes on electric vehicles

This will happen. Look at how much of a hit they're gonna take on fuel duty as well as Vehicle Excise Duty. For those needing to drive a leccy car, make hay whilst the sun shines, cause free VED ain't gonna last long!

There's actually an official testing site nearby. I was going to take a slightly later RD350 YPVS there for a joke.

The owner is up for it, one day!

I did a quick calculation, just for fun.
Based on 5,000 miles a year, with unleaded being £1.30 per litre and an M doing an average of 25mpg; it now costs you 35.6p per mile just in fuel and road tax. That's high :o

Not going to happen, how are people who spend a coupe of K on a used car going to afford an electric vehicle and by the time its at a price point they can afford or want to pay the range will be about 3 miles
