Starting Issues

Hi, not sure if anyone had this issue before.
I have a 2004 Z4 2.5i, the car runs like a dream, only problem is that the past couple of weeks I have been struggling to actually start the car. It does not happen every time but about once or twice a week.
I would turn the key, all the lights and radio etc works as it should, but when I try to start nothing would happen, not even a sound to give any indication of what the problem might be. Usually if I just turn the key back to the off position and start it again it would start without any issues. The next day if I attempt to start the car it would crank up with no issues at all..

Morning mate. Welcome to the forum! I'd say typically alternator, battery issue or starter solenoid /starter motor! But since you've said it starts sometimes and not others, it's not really possible for the battery to have "charged itself overnight" all by itself. So start with the solenoid or starter motor...

If you know anyone who has AA membership maybe start there? As a member you're covered in any car whether its yours or you're a passenger, so you could "borrow them" to help diagnose? Will start the diagnosis process at least. Good luck

Have a read/search about ignition key switches, it could be a cheap fix
