Starting Issue

I have an E85 3.0i with a FSH and 75k.

I went to use the car this morning (2.5 deg C) and it did not start. Turned over at the usual speed but did not catch. It sounded like it might occasionally. It started on the 3rd try and you could see the rev counter needle fluctuating slightly on fast idle.

It has since driven fine. I have used it recently in colder weather and started straight up as you wod expect.

Could this be a temp sensor not providing the info for a richer mixture or a crank position sensor?

Could be lots of things, but if it fired up normally (in the end) it sounds fuel related?

I was leaning towards battery issues. I shall have a look how old it is and see if it is original.

I have just replaced one in another of the cars and it did make quite some difference to cold cranking speed.
