Starting car on cambered road?

Hi,

Not a biggie but Just went to start the car and although it turned over several times and made an attempt to start, it didn't. Second try started after a few turns - I'm not particularly worried but it was very different to the normal first turn of the key start I'm used to. The only difference being that I was parked on a camber which meant the car was very much leaning to the left.

I've now parked the car on a flat and it is starting first time, could there be anything in the way the car was parked or anyone had similar experience?

Im no mechanic, could it be the part dry sump struggling to pump the oil round the engine due to the slope :idunno:

No idea, maybe someone mechanically minded might know....could just be a glitch in the matrix... :idunno:

I'd say a glitch Motto, see if it happens again.

Yip - will be trying it in about 20mins - God I hope it works because I'm parked in front of the whole office and in front of another car! Will look like a right tool if it doesn't work and I've gone on about the car for ages

I do not believe the M54/N54 engines have a 'dry sump' oiling system. I was under the impression that only the S54 on the ///M had a partial dry sump....

I could be wrong.
