Starter motor

Went to move my shed I mean zed Wee bugger not turn over no click nothing ..... Tested wires dud starter ... Mine had the oe nippon starter 180mm long nose to end .... As they awkward to remove I decided new one not recon ... As it's the short one prices are wild quoted 180-210 ..... The std cargo starter for bmw is 210 mm long and sells for £65 , bit of a fiddle but fits like a glove .... A good saving to know !

I replaced mine from Eurocarparts? was £60ish for a lucas or slightly more for a bosch.
Didn't know they came in two fittings.

Me neither. I got a lucas one and it starts lovely now.

My dad did mine mate. Looked quite easy once you locate the bolts.

If you fancy going to a garage to get it fitted, I can recommend power developments bmw in Laindon (Near fortune of war a127). Probably take them an hour or so to fit.

Thanks for the pic lotus. Mine also seemed to be bigger than the standard one and fitted fine.

Yes, very good. Always get my z4 serviced there. Decent pricing and great knowledge. I think the main guy is called Roger and he appears to be car mad :lol:

Sam1832 used/uses them also.
