Starter button

Just experienced strange behaviour with the Starter button... :?

I don't have comfort access and unlocked the car as usual. Got in and immediately hit the Start button. As expected, nothing happened but I then put the fob in the dashboard and it started straight away without needing to press the button again.

Can anyone confirm if their E89 does this?

Never tried that. I always follow the instruction in the manual, i.e. insert the key fob and then press the button.

Have you tried starting without the key in? My car wasn't billed as having the comfort access! Even the dealer put the key fob into the ignition to start it. I just tried it one day without inserting the key and ignition came on and pressing the clutch it started!

I'm pretty sure as soon as you press the button, without the fob inserted, nothing at all happens, but if you then put the fob into the slot it starts immediately, so no comfort access. I think i would have special door handles if i had comfort access... ? :?

Will try again when its time to leave at 5pm. :D
