standard tyre sizes

Hi guys new to the forum.

I recently acquired an 05 3.0SE and it has the 108 style 18 rims, I noted the tyres are 225 40 R18 front and back, also the tyre pressure card in the door also notes only this size, yet I am seeing 225 35 R18 for the rear mentioned every time I check out tyre prices, so simple question, did all Z4's come with staggered sizes or are my rears under sized?

You can get Z4's with the same size tyre all round, but in your case you should have 255/35/18's on the rear, especially as you have 108's, which should be 8.5'' wide at the back.

Previous owner must have been tight and didn't wanna fork out the extra for the wider rears.

Thanks guys, I am going to ditch the run flats for conventional tyres so will sort the size issue then.

I was thinking of putting Yokohama's on but a lot of guys seem to be recommending Bridgestones?

Bridgestones :? are you sure ? I'd say they were the least popular Z tyre available search through the forum , there are countless topics discussing tyre choices

Yeah Bridgestone's ? Ugh As mentioned there are lots of better choices For me it was Vredstein Ultrac Vorti a great tyre and very popular with Z 4 owners. But then again you pay's your money and you make your choice.
