Standard E89 Exhaust Tip Removal?

As per the title, how do I remove these tips ? (Photos)

Mine look terrible and I really need to get the off to do something about them. Are they just a push-on friction grip? So that I just have to tap them off from behind with a rubber mallet?

I think they are welded on.
The N20 and N52 engined cars with twin outlets push on, but not the N54.

I’ll have to have a rethink about how to polish them in-situ then.

Yeah mine look shite too and not like able to polish, was thinking of getting something like akrapovic tips and get them welded on, would just have to be spot on with the measurements..

Solvol Autosol will do a great job restoring them..
