Stainless exhaust

On my way back from fives tonight my exhaust started blowing. A quick look on eBay brings up a stainless cat back system for £280. No manufacturer name, but pics and feedback seem fine. Anybody got one or thought about one?

It might be worth getting a quote for a custom exhaust fabricated whilst your car is in the air. I had a good chat to the guy who did some work on mine and he said it’s usually cheaper than any off the shelf system and often guaranteed for life.

It’s never going to be cheaper than that but it has to be worth a quote to weigh up the options. You’ll be able to explain what you want and get something that meets your needs.

Hi, the standard system is stainless-it’s probably a clamp securing bolt or similar that’s corroded and caused the blowing :?

I kind of guessed that. But I won’t know until I check it tomorrow. Greg has got me thinking about a custom system now. There is a place close to me that fabricate exhausts. I’ve sent an email, and I’ll wait and see what they say.

My current Coupe has a custom system fitted and I love it - more pops and bangs than OEM and a bit louder (probably because the back box is about half the size)! :lol:

You see, I’m not a pops and bangs kind of person. I don’t mind the standard noise, I’d just like a lower burble, if you know what I mean. It’s hard to explain a sound.

I think I know what you mean - I think I get more burble with the bonus of more pops and bangs!

But that isn't going to suit everyone!
