St Georges Day...?

Political Correctness....Thats where it all goes wrong. (and I'm not talking about respect)
"We seem to think we are 'above' everybody else in Europe because we are so fair, accepting and non-judgemental !"

Well, Evolution wouldn't have worked on that basis. Tell me an animal that doesn't oust the runt of the litter or a predator that doesn't chase prey because its 'just not right'. Kids pick on the odd one at school and animals do the same, - its a survival instinct to oust the threat and improve your own standing.

Life is competitive and you either man up, adapt or fail. Thats how evolution worked for the last few millennium, so why are we changing it in the last 20 years ?

Example: If you ruled a Castle that could only accommodate 100 people behind its walls, you would select those people who had something to offer (a skill or trade), or who had previously contributed well and deserved protection (i,e your own elderly). If that meant shutting the door on Lay-abouts, strangers and imposters, you would, for the security and long term stability of your castle.

An Englishmans home is his castle so,why should the Country be any different ? It can only support so many and each must be a valid and trustworthy contributor to keep the community working succesfully.

My rant over !

Well said that man......That's one reason I fly my flag at all times.......I'm still waiting for the day someone comes to my doorstep and asks me to take it down because it offends someone, well boo ffing ho to you, I don't give a s**t!!!!! It's my house, my land(all paid for) and I'll do as I like because like you say my home is My Castle an Englishman's Castle and I will defend it and my family from whatever I see as a threat to it, accordingly....

If this offends anyone....read the second line again..... :fuelfire:

Keep 'England English' I was born here and think England should not lose it's identity. I go to Ireland regularly and same is happening there. Other countries stick to their rules & customs and don't make changes to accomodate migrants ie no alcohol, women covering up, not aot allowed to vote, religion..... I read a comment on facebook about migrants not liking this & that and trying to make countries they live in like their respective countries they ran away from? PC has gone mad!
I can understand the frustrations felt by many the only way to address this is by doing what you do without feeling it may cause offence. It needs to come from a strong Government & teaching from schools.

Enjoying some of the sentiments shown here, are we all part of the moaning silent majority?
On a plus note, our 6 year old grand-daughter came home from school on Thursday telling us about the knight and slaying the dragon and knew it was St Georges Day.
I bet there's a lot of schools that don't dare mention it.

I detect a few UKIP voters on this thread :fuelfire:
I had to laugh the other day, a letter came in from Labour and at the top it said on May 7th you only have one choice to make, whether you want a Labour government or a Conservative government.
They are all extremely cocky that one of them will always get in, it should not be a two horse race, its about time another party like UKIP shook the system up.

I'm not a UKIP voter but I'm still of the opinion that we're a relatively small island and the population density, especially in the south-east, means that we must put restrictions on immigration

Dont think your area is hard done by, most of the country gets hit the same.
The UK is losing its identity and will soon be worse off than the Netherlands.

I don't think UKIP would make any difference whatsoever, if we are talking legitimate immigrants i.e from EU member countries and the dependants of UK passport holders then what would UKIP do differently - withdraw from the EU? and limit the number of dependants entering UK - I don't think so.
Illegals and political assylum seekers could be dealt with better, stronger Border Agency, stronger jurisdiction when applications are made.
Include with this lot a system for any immigrant found breaking certain UK laws should be deported.
The bottom line is we are weak and we don't govern our own country any more.

I saw an interview with a couple of the survivors of the boat that sank in the med.
They were asked where they were heading and they said London.
This country is a soft touch and needs to change.
Australia has the right idea.
Anybody entering has to abide by their rules and laws.

Though I think UKIP are an embarrassment of a party, I agree that it's good that people are talking about what was (is) a very sensitive subject

I think you're right Phil.
UKIP would no doubt make a complete balls up financially if they got in, but I think people want to vote for them, just to make Cameron and Millipede stand up and listen to what the (indigenous) people of the UK feel about immigration.

Did you see the Ch4 fictional documentary about UKIP winning a landslide victory at the election and the following 100 days in office?

Very thought provoking - especially for those who think this would be a good idea !!

Racist much? Imagine the outrage if that was about white people.

Good job St. George can't read this thread having a Turkish father and a Palestinian mother I'm sure he's happier dead

Think you may find that his father was believed to be a Greek Nobleman and an officer in the Roman Army. Of which Georgios later joined and rose to the rank of Tribune. His mother was indeed Palestinian and like George's father a Christian. St. George is venerated across much of the Christian and Muslim beliefs with links to Al-Khidr,John the Baptist,St.Sarkis and even Vishnu all possibly being the same person.

Just some info I have picked up over the years....... Oh, St.George was executed for standing up for what he believed in and refused to change to appease others. So.............

The fact remains that the tone of the overall thread may not give the impression to the reader that a Greek / Palestinian would be welcome to these shores right now, nothing more than that

Yes the tone of this thread is getting rather distatseful. Also it's getting slightly surrreal - I think I read somewhere further up Australia being touted as a good model of how to curb immigration, the mind truly boggles.

Can I ask why you think it's distasteful Jampudding ?

People are expressing their opinions regarding the loss of the traditions and values in this country, which they seem to believe is due to the dilution of indigenous people due to the number of immigrants coming in. What is distasteful ?
