I bought HAWK Performance HPS brake pads, had both the front and rear rotors skimmed before installing them - had them probably burnished once installed.
When I come to a complete stop or when I just start the car and the pads are cold, they can squeal very loudly. If I drive for a bit and get them warm enough, it seems to go away.
My mechanic suggested this is fairly typical of performance pads - is that true?
