Squeaky wipers.

I seem to have squeaky wipers. Not the blades, but the arms. I put some grease on the part the wiper arm attaches to, which seemed to cure it for a while, but the noise is back again.

Any ideas what is causing this?

It's the small hinge on the wiper arm. Mine does this and some WD40 sorts it but only for a short while. It looks like its caused by slight amount of corrosion. Not really sure how to go about perminetly removing the squeak though, well, not without replacing the arm.

wd40 is not an effective lubricant.

I had this problem on my old Z that's just occurred on my M also. I used a squirt of wd40 as already suggested and that solved the problem for over a year until I sold the car. I will be using wd40 again

All advise above duly noted.

Best tip though. Don't take your Zed out in the rain.
