Squeaky wiper mechanism

Sounds like from drivers side. Only noticed it when outside the car while opening garage. Where are the pointe to Lubricate? Is it a remove the wiper arms and remove the trim Job? The mechanism doesn't seem accessible easily so want to only remove what I need to to lubricate it.

Are you sure it's the mechanism? If you lift the wipers off the glass and then run the motor, does it stop? If so, put a bit of oil on the springs under the wiper arm - worked for me.

Yes mate definitely the mechanism. I checked the blades/springs already! Was hoping that would be it!

Pity, I was pleased it cured my squeak. No idea on getting to the mechanism, but I'm sure someone will know. Have you searched the forum?

Both my zeds have made the exact same noise, Might have to look at lubricating whatever I can to try and shut it the f**k up

Mine squeaks too, even after I shout at it and turn the music up  So annoying, the loud pedal also tones down the annoyance

Andi.

Mine have squeaked on and off since I got the car. I lubricated the hinge and the bolt itself (no dismantling required) - squeak was still there. Played with the wipers off the screen - no squeak. Lubricated the spring - still squeaking. I then carefully lubricated all of the moving parts & joints on the wiper blade itself with little squirts of 3-in-1, cleaned off the excess - squeak gone

When it happens again I do the same thing, works every time. Also irritating is when the rubber squeaks on the screen itself - wiping the blades clean with meths seems to help for a while until they get dirty again.

X2

I always found it to be the hinge of the wiper arm. Oil and and the squeak goes away.

I had my wiper motor replaced as the ball joint on the drivers side became worn. I still have it I believe so if you wanted to go down the replacement route p.m. me. Mine don't squeak and this week replaced my old blades with Bosch Super Aero Blades and left off the spoiler, planning to attatch it next week. I have to say they seems to clear the screen better so am now going to leave off.

Mine squeaks as well; will be trying the above suggestions this weekend! Hope it works as it is a tad annoying!!

Another squeeky one here too! It's on my to do list. I've had two zeds and both of them have done it.

Andrew.

I also get the squeak on my drivers side but wd40 gets rid of it. I've had the car 5yrs and had to use the wd40 twice :) you need to spray it on while the wipers are moving. Seemed to work for me.
