Squeaky Window

Passenger window glass squeaks like a bitch going up and down, sounds like the rubbers are dry.

Does anyone know of something other than silicone spray to cure this,

Thanks.

We had this having just bought the car. Everytime the roof lowered and rose the passenger window would not shut completely. It also made a horrendous grinding squeaking noise. Like something was about to snap or break. Took it to an independent and they removed the door card. They then found the regulator had to be replaced, with some other bits and pieces. Was around 250.00, but since then, no problems. Hope you get yours sorted out.

I'm in the midst of this issue. Drivers side Window wouldn't go up properly following grinding sounds. If the window still goes up and down but is struggling like mine... Wd40 in the slot where the window runs up and down..." The rail " I think.. Ip it some and then Window went all the way up straight away.

Apparently the dryness causes pressure on he system making screws come loose and so on. So those screws or whatever might need to be tightened if grinding continues which makes sense because I'm sure I heard what sounded like a screw drop inside the door. my next step is to get into the door to have a look... For the moment window stays up... Air con on :)

Why no silicone spray?
Usually a quick squirt along the rubber lips inside/outside keeps everything lubed and supple...

Just not a lover of it i suppose, used to use loads of it back in the day but kinda went off it.

It is defiantly heat related as it hasn't done it for a while but its warming up again so i'll grab a can tomorrow and give it a squirt.

I'll have to keep an eye out for you on the road Georgio as we are practically neighbours.
