Squeaky suspension/engine?

This has been getting slightly worse the past few months and today after a good clean I took her for a drive to dry off. As I hit speed bumps the front n/s of the car makes a loud squeaking type noise. Like something is rubbing badly.

So I stopped, opened the bonnet and pressed down hard on each corner and it's definitely the front near side. Almost as if the engine block is moving slightly?!

Weird. Mine does that, sort of, into my drive while turning mainly though. I was wondering if was salt / crap that's gotten in the shock... We can compare notes in a bit :wink:

It's very strange. It's always been a little bit squeaky but it's got a lot louder recently. Not used the car much in recent months and when I have it's been wet or damp. May have something to do with it I guess. Sound eminates from the engine block/alternator area or below that I think.

Sounds like rubber bushes creaking to me - do you find it goes away when it's wet because they are 'lubricated'?

Isn't there mention somewhere of the engine mounts being a bit of an Achilles Heel on the Z?

Suspension bushes or engine? Not noticed it being any less in the wet, but then not listened out for it properly until today.

First just check black strut bars are torqued up correctly, they can give off noises even when the feel tight.
