Squeaky sports seat

Evening all

Anyone taken a sport seat apart? Had a quick look today to see if the seat backs came off like the standard seats but didn't immediately look the same

I've got an annoying squeak in the backrest of my drivers seat I need to remedy- any tips? Would prefer not to take the seat out but will do if need to

I’d say you have to remove the complete seat because the backrest is held in place with largish torx screws on both sides - which cannot be accessed in a seat in situ. Before removing the backrest or the seat, an easy thing to check: my seat’s squeak turned out to be easy to fix.

In hindsight, the squeak my seat had, with the leather coming loose at the bolsters, could have been easily fixed without taking the seats out. Just had to do that to inspect what was going on. Thought that the leather or the plastic lining was somehow torn, which was not the case.
 
In the past any seat or trim squeaks in my cars have been permanently sorted with a generous application of GT85 spray (PTFE). Narrow down what is squeaking then liberally apply the GT85. Wait a short while for the solvent to start evaporating and wipe away any excess. Works every time :thumbsup:
