Squeaky seats?

The seats in the Zed seem to be well known for squeaking when they are too far back and come in to contact with the plastics behind the seat. However, my seat seems to have developed a squeak of its own and it's extremely annoying :x .

Not sure what has prompted it as nothing has happened recently and the seat hasn't moved. I'm always extremely careful with my cars and the Zed gets driven fairly infrequently in to the bargain.

Any ideas what might be up or if there is anything I can do to address this annoying noise? Other than turn the music up or put the roof down (both of which I've tried and I can still hear it :headbang: )

Cheers

Somebody posted a solution for this. From memory either bing or jan_tenkin also had the issue so might be worth a PM.

In our case, lubricating the two joints circled in red solved the squeak/creak which happens when there is load on the seat cushion.

Thanks for this. Yeah, I reckon it's somewhere under the seat. Weirdly if I have the seat fully down, I get the squeak, if I then move it up very slightly, it goes but then it comes back. I then put it all the way down and it goes away again!!

Think I'll just get it out at the weekend and lube it up (the seat, that is :) )

In our case, when fully down, the squeak goes away but comes back after some a while (less than 30min). Moving the seat up will cause the squeak to be present all the time.

We used lithium spray grease on the two joints. Did it early of this year and as of today, the seat is squeak-free (y)

I hope it works for you as well!
