I'm enjoying my recently purchased 08 3.0si, though there have been a few bugs I'm trying to work through one at a time.
One of them is a squeaky driver's seat. What I really mean is that the squeak seemed to be coming from where the seat back rubs up against the plastic behind it. I decided to pick up some felt, stick it on to where the seat was rubbing, but no fix. Then I realized for the first time that the squeak wasn't coming from rubbing against the plastic, it's coming from the plastic itself! There's a little bit of play in the plastic housing down at the bottom which is where the seat applies pressure. That plastic has just a little bit of play in it and that's where the squeak is coming from; I can hake it happen with just my fingers and only a little bit of pressure.
So I took some of that felt and tried tucking it up under the bottom edge of the plastic. Maybe I could firm it up and at least stop the movement. Nope. I looked at where the bottom edge of the plastic meets the center console; maybe the movement opens up a gap and that's what causes the squeak. I tried to wedge a little bit of paper in there. Nope.
The passenger side does not have this problem. I don't see any fasteners on the driver's side that I could try to tighten down. Any thoughts on this?
