Squeaky noise from behind the seats

Hello

Iv got a annoying squeak coming from behind the seats, Iv not really noticed it much before until I fitted the hardtop a few weeks ago.

I have managed to work out where the noise is coming from though, Iv attached photos..

If I stick my finger in between the folded down roof and the plastic (like in the photo) the noise does stop.

My question is how do I cure it? Silicone spray? Or is there another solution?

Thanks
Arthur

Thank mate 👍

This may help me fix another rattle the car has from somewhere underneath which I can only hear when windows or roof is down

I had a squeak from roughly there before I took my interior to bits to wrap the dash.

Now it's all been out and put back in... No squeak! Something is probably loose or out of place that shouldn't be, but just give it a good wack and a spray, it'll probably be fine.

Is it easy to take apart?

Honestly the answer is yes and no. Some of it is easy, some is fiddly. The whole thing would be drastically easier if you could work with the roof down and in a warm lit garage. I did all of it outside with the roof up and some in the dark!

I followed a fantastic guide from pelican parts for the centre console.

That is a very good guide thanks for that!

I did have a little play with the plastics behind the seats today whilst I had my hardtop off to try solve wind noise issue I have and I covered it with more silicone lubricant spray again... it’s now worse! What else can I do to cure it! It’s making the car unpleasant to drive 😔

Update -

Tonight I took the trim behind the seats apart, clean the silicone spray off with some degreaser and stuck some sort of felt tape to each areas which are plastic to plastic.

It seems to have sorted the issue Iv been having, but I’m not convinced it will last as the tape did not want to stick very well.
