Squeaky drivers window

Hi all,

i know its been discussed before, but wondered if anyone had any other ideas about squeaky drivers window, mainly when hot.
Ive done the glass with Auto Glym glass cleaner to make sure it had no contaminates on it, but for all I know, it might have made it worse.

Apart from WD 40, anything else prove to work out there ?
Cheers

My passenger one squeakes in dry hot weather. I have tried to lubricate it with all sorts. Doesn't seem to make much difference until it rains and then it's fine.

Where is the squeak coming from? If its the rubber, then try some gummi pfledge (eBay is your friend). If its the mechanism, may involve door card removal to oil the hearings etc.

saw this tip on superscrimpers....
rub a candle on the glass then polish like mad...possible with newspaper....
stops squeaks....
apparently....

anyone tried this

may give it a go but its raining so the windows are wet anyway :|

I think you really need to identify the source of the squeek. Is it the glass as it slides in the rubber seals/wipers? The mechanism, the runners? Is it just in the last 1" of movement as the glass tightens or the regulator reaches it stop setting or the entire travel?

Random applications of lubricants, cleaners, etc. might get it, but likely not so.

Keep WD40 away. It dries out quickly and become very sticky.

My problem is that it squeaks in hot weather.
And it seems to occur whilst the window is going up or down the whole length of the travel.
Ive washed( with water )the seals at the very lip of the top of the door (i.e. the 2 lips either side covered in a fur-like coating).
They dont seem to be the problem.
I seems to be further inside the door panel.
It does squeak even louder towards the end of the travel though.
Does that help anyone diagnose a litlle more specifically ?
Cheers

I'd pull the door card off and think you'll trace it easier. I'd be looking at the guides and regulator mechanism. Doubt it's the door wiper seals.
