Squeaking noise

Hi all,

I've done a quick search to no avail so here goes:

I've started to notice an intermittent squeaking/whistling noise coming from the near side front wheel/engine area. The noise is only audible at low speed and when the engine is hot (ie nothing for the first 10 minutes or so from cold start). It doesn't sound like it relates to use of the brake/throttle/cluctch (ie doesnt get better or worse) but does seem to correspond to the speed the wheel is turning. It's like something's rubbing, but I can't see anything.

Any ideas? The car's just passed its MOT with no brake advisories.

Thoughts gratefully received.

Wheel bearing, wishbone, bushes, shocks etc etc

Or water pump but not sure how or if that relates to wheel turning

Best go to an indie and get it up on a ramp.

For wheel bearing jack up the car and see if the wheel wiggles by holding at 3&9 o'clock position and moving in and out.

Any play is a wheel bearing.

Bushes, check everything is solid or minimal movement.

Lots of play means needs replacing.

Also check the strut brace bolts although that knocks more than squeaks.

Hope I helped in some way.
