Spurious warnings from the on-board computer

Anyone else experiencing/experienced this?

Sometimes - and I guess it's around once in every 5 starts of the engine - the dash display shows a picture of the car on a service ramp together with a small warning triangle. Having looked at the owners manual, the warning triangle seems to be telling me that I have a Control Check (i.e. the computer has found something amiss). However, when I go through the process to see what it wrong, the display comes up with 'Check OK' which, according to the manual, means everything is OK :? Huh?

So, on the Control Check option I stepped through all of the individual items - service, oil, brakes etc - and everything looked tickety-boo and had scheduled dates deep into 2013.

Any ideas?

How old is yours? Is it about due an MOT? Mine did this a month before MOT was due, as a reminder.

Thx for the reply but I don't think it's the MOT as the car is just over 18 months old. Guess it's just one of those things...

The service reminder is set,initially,from date of build not from date of PDI.Take the key fob into a main dealer and they can check this instantly.

Thx for the tip and I'll get this checked. It recently had an oil change at a main dealer and so I would hope that everything was checked then and set up correctly - but then again...
