sprint booster

Has anyone installed a sprint booster unit?
I am contemplating fitting one to my 2.2 Z4 and would be interested in any feed back.

Forgive my ignorance on this, just had to search on the web to find out what a 'sprint booster' is - sounds like a replacement for a 'sport button' to make throttle response a little quicker? Is that all it is? For the money they appear to be asking, I'd probably be content with just pressing the loud pedal a bit harder.

Hi,
Don’t have a sport button as my Z has a manual box, the Sprint booster is supposed to reduce that annoying delay in throttle response.

I've got a manual, and a sport button (although it's a 3.0 Z4 - the button probably didn't come on the 2.2, or if it did it might not have been standard - someone on here might be able to confirm this) - I think all it does (in terms of the throttle) is switch to a slightly different map so that when you press the throttle for a given amount of travel, the engine speed rises more than if you had the button switched off. I can't comment on the delay in throttle response as mine seems ok, but I've never driven the 2.2 - I know the 2.0 4-pot actually wasn't bad, not as quick to accelerate as a 2.5/3.0 (to be expected) but I didn't notice a delay in response i.e. push the pedal, engine speed rises. Other members may be able to say more on it...

Sounds spot on Dev  Just remember the sport button also reduced steering assistance from the electirc motor

Sprint booster would be useful on manual models that don't have a sport button if you feel the need for a twitchy throttle.

Wouldn't fit it on an auto that didn't have sport as on those the sport changes the gear shift position and speed of change too
