Springs on standard shocks?

Hi, I am a newbee to the site having just purchased a 2007 2.5 si Z4. As above i am looking to lower the car without spending a fortune. I would like to know anyones opinion or past experience in lowering using PI 30mm springs on the standard shocks? With it only being a slight drop, are the shocks likely to be ok? The set up i am planning is staggered CSL rims 235/35/19's on the front and 265/30/19's rear with the slight drop of 30mm. Anyone running similar set up? Pics would be a big help if there are any out there....

Thanks

Go with Koni's/Bilsteins. I tried Eibachs/H&R's and stock sport shocks on my '04 3.0i. The bouncyness during quick acceleration/deceleration drove me crazy. I ended up buying a set of Koni's a week or 2 later and had to pay for another install (before I learned to install suspensions myself).

Thanks for the advice. Are the Koni a frim ride? Do you think lowering springs on standard shocks will be be ok without uprating the shocks?

Thanks again

The Eibachs & Koni's combo ride more comfortable than stock, and can be firm as well when you change the settings. No I don't think lowering springs are okay on stock shocks. First of all, stock shocks won't last very long that way and you'll end up needing to replace them after a short time anyway. And like I said you'll experience a very bouncy ride and you will feel like a bobble-head doll.
