Springs for a 2006 3.0si SE

So I'm hoping one of you knowledgeable people can me please, as I've done a search on the forum and am getting completley confused as to what springs will / won't fit my car.

Its currently on lowered springs (fitted by previous owner), but due to a recent incident where it got stuck on the base for a removable post, I want it back to standard height. Its a 2006 3.0 si se (VIN checker indicates a May 2006)

What sort of springs do I need? A lot of the ones recommended on other threads, when I view them online to buy, say they are for cars with sports suspension - trouble is, I have no idea if my car has sports suspension or not. I've gone on the Realoem checker and put the vin code in, and it doesn't show anything about suspension.

Whilst I want the car higher, I don't want it looking like a jacked up 4x4!

Thanks in advance for any help!

Any spring for any of the E85's will fit but when you eventually find out what your car should have the next hurdle is finding someone who has them in stock and has them listed correctly so you know you are getting what you actually need. Many of the online parts retailers have incorrect information re fitment so you need to look at the actual specs of the spring so length and diameter etc. This seems especially common on Ebay.
BMW no longer have stock but you'd be mad to pay their prices anyhow.
I've got Msport on the front of mine and standard on the rear as I was sold the rears second hand as being off an Msport fitted car - they clearly are not. I'll change them at some point but it doesn't really bother me that much.

Add some pics of you car [ref]Diamond Gaz[/ref],
Have you tried Autodoc?
Suplex are a good option.

Edit it looks like you were sold it on eibach pros. Another option.. You could add thinker bmw spring pads to raise the height slightly.

Thanks for the replies / info. So if I'm understanding correctly, all of the springs will fit, regardless of whether I have sports suspension or standard suspension? (Apologies if that's a stupid question, but I've never got involved in suspension before). If that's correct, then that removes a load of worry, about buying the springs and then finding they don't fit at all.

I've been round the car this lunchtime, and the ground to bottom of the car clearances are 110mm at both front wheels and centre of the bumper, and then 115mm at one rear wheel and 125mm at the other rear wheel.

Yes, I believe its on lowered Eibech springs at the moment. A quick trawl on the springs for sale on Autodoc, throws these measurements up:

Local BMW dealer wants £144 for each of the fronts, and £150 for each of the rear. (and won't tell me what the part numbers are).

Think I'm going to order these and see what happens!

Those fronts (06248) are sports height. They say they are good for both auto and manual, with optional extras. Never been able to work out what those are tbh, but implies a bit more weight perhaps?
06247 is for Sports, manual box and no optional extras, so maybe not designed to hold quite as much weight.
Given you are concerned about ride height and that your current ride height doesn't look much below sports, then I would say the 06248 you have selected will be correct.
Bear in mind it'll sit a bit higher for a while until everything settles in.

Therefore, the rear 06231 that you have selected should be the proper match for those fronts.

To clarify then, 2x 06248 and 2x 06231

May I suggest you use the Autodoc app on your phone as sometimes the discounts on that are better than on the website.

From experience, the best thing to do is stick all those in your basket and then monitor the discounts, hitting buy when they are best.
Usually find a Monday has the best deals for some reason.
As an example, I loaded up front and rear suspension, plus an N52 water pump and thermostat. On Sunday it was £816.45. On Monday it dropped to £655.37

[ref]Diamond Gaz[/ref], I’ve sent you a pm with a referral discount code for AUTODOC . 👍🏻
