Springs and timing chain query for E85 2.0 2007

Anyone got tips on best springs for an E85 2.0i 2007? Ordered new Sachs shocks and mounts but wonder what springs others have used. Autodoc has 45% sale on but don't have Sachs springs. Euro car parts have sachs springs, cost £238. Car's done 90,000 miles and the potholed roads in Scotland have taken their toll...
Also thinking about the timing chain... Should I be changing the tensioner at this mileage? Better to change chain and tensioner? No weird noises but would rather be safe than sorry.

Not much love for the two point 0 eh!?
A lot of people will go with Eibach if they want a slight drop. Or if you want to keep it standard Sachs or any other decent make will do.
Timing chain is a weak point. If it’s not making any noise I’d leave it and just do it when/if it starts to rattle

Hey Jahmez, I'd have to concur with j3nks79  , for a slight drop, grab yourself a set of Eibachs at 45% off is a steal. As for the tensioner and timing chain, if there's no noise, there's a good indication that the chain is still within tolerance, and the tensioners are working correctly.
I think its a genuine worry factor for most owners, but I'm blessed I have a great rapport with my mechanic, I like to change my oil every 6-8k and always ask him to check the chains and tensioners. So far, I'm good, but it's a cost I have factored in for when the time comes.

Yeah, was beginning to think it was 6 cyl snobbery lol. Thanks for the response.. Had a look at Eibachs, lowers the car 30mm, which I'm not sure I could live with due to the amount a mount of speed ramps here but I'll give it a mull over with a ruler but the 2.0 isn't listed so I've sent a couple of emails out to see if they have them. Ebay seems cheapest so far at £179. Spoke to my mechanic today and he agrees with you on the chain and tensioner, if it ain't making a noise leave it.. Car was in today getting new front wheel bearings fitted and tracking done. All sounding and feeling good again. Cheers.

Cheers, looking into Eibachs now. 👍
