Well . . . she went in for a oil service today. that went fine, but they called up the following problems, i chose to not have any of them done at the stealer as im sure these things can be sorted cheaper. None of the cost below included labour.

Oil Service - £197.00 - Paid

2x Wiper Blades - £35.85 - Laughed, didn't pay

2x Rear Springs, chipped not broken - £334.90 - not done - where can i get this done guys? will a good specialist undercut this price by alot?

A/C Light On and Coolant Due (wording taken from their job sheet) - £189.02 - Not done.

Now the coolant light was coming on over the last 2 days but going off again once the engine heated up. I figured it just needed a top up so requested this when I dropped it in this morning. They came back with - The coolant needs replacing! Looking at the forum I cant see anywhere where coolant ever needs replacing?! She told me it needs doing every two years. Even if this is the case, surely £189.02 is ridiculous? Do I get this done or do I just top up, her words were "It doesn't need a top up, it needs replacing".

Any advice etc is hugely welcome.

Coolant should be replaced from time to time. I do it every 4 years (as it was advised by the manufacturer of my previous car).
And yes, i'm always amazed by the price they charge for just opening a bleeding valve and putting new fluid...

Ok, rung around, here's some prices that BMW would be ashamed to see.

Springs: NCB AUTOKRAFT - Birmingham - £253 inc vat, inc labour!
Coolant change: NCB AUTOKRAFT - Birmingham -£35 all in!

Springs: OSC Motorsport - £294.62 ex vat inc labour.
Coolant change: £35 all in.

Remember BMW - Springs - £334.90 inc vat
Coolant - £189.02 inc vat

Ha ha, maybe i should! pretty sure the boys at NCB will be seeing my precious next week!
