Sprayed grills

I've been giving my Zed a lot of TLC over the past few months. Yesterday I resprayed my grills as they were quite stone chipped.
I used some Rust-Oleum Matt black spray and masking taped the chrome areas. I gave it two coats which worked perfectly.
What do you guys think? It only cost me £7.50 for the spray

I've done the same but with rubber peel-able coat seems to last alright! been a year ish.

you can separate the chrome part from grey part so you wont need to mask it up - for future reference.

Thanks for the demo of the chrome coming apart there. They look great. I think the chrome looks good on my Stirling grey though, as having all-black makes the grill look lost in with the radiator, but it's personal preference. Great work!

I might give this a go on mine, do people bother sanding and priming or just go straight in with the black spray?

i cleaned mine before plastidipping them. been good for about a year so far....

I cleaned mine off but didn't sand. The stone chips weren't deep so the spray paint covered it right up. Might want to sand it if they're deep I suppose.
