Hi Guys

Tried to vinyl wrap gab hands with mixed result the front looked great but the sides just went up to spec so it had to come off.So down o B&Q and got me some paint.
Already had some primer and clear so just needed a colour.
So started with removing cover from car and rubbing down with 800 wet and dry to get rid of all the deep scratches and to key for paint. Its worth tacking your time on this and get absolutely smooth and and scratch free. ( other wise it will show through paint)
Two coats of primer let dry completely then a light rub down again with 800 wet and dry followed by another two coats of primer.
Allow to dry over night.
Again another light rub down cleaned dried ready for main colour.
I chose a can of 100ml of plasti-kote PEWTER , 4 light coats and allowing each coat to dry between each application.( take your time and dont put to much on at any one time )
Allow to dry and then 3 -4 light coats of clear to seal again allow to dry between coats.
Left over night to harden before fitting back in car.

Here are some pics before and after .

The trouble I had was there don't do the chromeline ones any more so would have to buy a pair of other type so not much on this weekend and the weather grounded the zed . So £3.00 of paint and bobs your uncle iam realy pleased with the result.

I have chrome line interior too, it's all in great condition but my mfsw is silver ( not chrome line) I think I might have to remove the steering wheel tabs and give this a go!

The results look great

Good work  thinking of doing mine satin black wanted to trim them in leather but not sure if they would fit back on OK

Ill try and take some pics of the old chromeline trims of the steering wheel next to the grab handles so you all can see the comparison.its not quite the same but in different area of the car you wouldn't notice it unless you was told.
And thanks for the nice comments

Part off the steering wheel cover next to the grab handle for comparison, not quite the same but pretty good.z4003.jpg
