How do I know if I have a com box
Go to https://bimmer.work and put in your VIN and see what options you have. (Access the site with an ad-blocker installed on your browser as it's a bit ad heavy!!)

You want to be looking in the 600 bracket for options, (maybe 633, 644, 6NF, 6NR etc) see what's there

609 654 620 :)

OK well 609 is iDrive
620 is Voice Control
654 is DAB
6ah ** see below
6am is real time traffic
6ak is Connected Drive

** 6ah, can't find any referance to this VO code anywhere :?

So 6ak being Connected Drive means you have the Combox (as I see no other way of Connected Drive working without it)
I'm surprised it's got no bluetooth features active (633), but I have come across this before

So coding 633 (Bluetooth calls), 6VC (telling the iDrive that you have a Combox) and 644 (Preparation f mobile phone w Bluetooth, ie; Bluetooth Streaming ** This has been edited due to a mistake on my part) "should" sort you out.

The only way to tell for certain is to remove the boot bulkhead carpet section and it'll be to the left of the passthrough hatch location.

Does anyone not listen to the radio anymore? Or music via a USB flash drive, or good old fashioned CD.

Lucky the OP doesn't have an E85, he would be complaining the gramophone stylus jumps over uneven roads!

I suppose the advantage of spotify / deezer is that you get the music that you want to listen to, more or less for free!
(suffering those junk adverts tho)

6NH !! Sorry not 6ah my bad :) that's why you can't find it.

I like good old radio . Never used the cd player though😂

I usually dload music to the usb stick and load it in the car.
But the child wants Spotify !!!

You say ..So coding 633 (Bluetooth calls),

I already have bt calling ??

Radio, nope, not interested in some boring knob droning on, just music for me thanks.
CD? Who uses CD's these days :)

USB, yes very useful, built-in HDD, Bluetooth streaming, MMI

Thought I had missed a trick here. Have been using a cable into the aux in the centre console to get spotify.
Check on Bimmer and I have codes -
6NF Music interface for smartphones
6FL Usb-/audio Interface
609 Navigation system Professional

Amongst other codes in the 600 range.

I'm not seeing an audio option at all and have screens same as Portisz4.

I assume I am missing the correct option for bluetooth streaming. Followed the youtube video and no option to add audio for me.

I've checked the free Spotify works - I had the same, spoke to a coder who asked me to message him my VIN number, took it to him, half hour later and 75 beer vouchers I have music streaming controlled from my steering wheel with camsam's speed camera warnings through the speakers

** Firstly sorry for the late replies over the weekend, I've been filming for my channel so have been very pre-occupied.

Still can't find the Bluetooth audio box to check though😀
Have a look at this photo (stolen from another post on here), ignoring the red boxes the Combox is within the yellow oval, and this is behind the carpet section

Yes, my bad :headbang: As I originally stated, for Bluetooth streaming you need 644, 6NF is for smartphone apps integration (ie; iPhone direct apps onto the iDrive system). I will correct my error :?

Can it be coded in? I have that cable thing and the BMW software ista or inpa what ever it was. I think it came with coding software . Is it complicated to do to add bt streaming

As long as the combox is definately there, so I'm assuming it is, then it can be coded. You need BMW Tools, which includes INPA, NCSExpert, Tool32 etc (Here>>> https://www.bimmergeeks.net/downloads), but then you need to know how to use it. If you are prepared to wait a while I've just relocated my Combox into it's proper place (I originally retrofitted it above the glovebox but decided to move it for the video) and will be making this into one of my How-To videos for a full retrofit which will include the coding side of it (basically some of which you'll need to know). Alas I don't know when I'll be releasing this video as there is a lot of other work to go into the video which I've not shot yet or compliled. I may be able to write down what you need but it's not straightforward without a video to show you, if you see what I mean.
