Spotify on iDrive

Hi

I have just signed upfor Spotify premium which allows access to music offline.
I have a 2011 Z4 M Sport Highline with iDrive. When I connect by USB it finds the music, and sometimes displays the track info and artwork on the screen (not always)

No control using the steering wheel controls.

Any advice to get it all working properly? is it possible? Anyone know if BMW have plans to release any software updates for the iDrive that might improve this?

I know that on an iPhone, you have to have "local" music as well (i.e. non Spotify) before it will play.

I have not tested it with iDrive as my car with iDrive and the entertainment package has not arrived yet.
