Sporty Winter Car?

Have to agree with the Subaru. Ive had 3 and have yet to drive a better car for feel and grip.

A bit chavvy looks wise but I can forgive that for the driving pleasure.

Curve ball?
4wd 4ws 4 seater
And way under budget.

I used to love those back in the day.

Gosh I haven't seen one of those for years, not sure I would drive it now but definitely worth a look!

Other than a BMW all I've got is this:

What about one of the V8 S5's, £10k should get you a good'un?

Another good shout I'll have a look

Of kinda the same ilk, can you find more car for less money? Although I suspect you might want another £10k behind the sofa just in case

Great recipe, never driven one to see how well it all comes together though. The engine gets some stick for being a bit anodyne but a few choice mods might bring it to life.

Plenty of fun in the snow to be had in one of these......

If you’re feeling brave then an older RS6 or Cayenne turbo would make for an all weather missile. Not really my thing and a huge financial liability for a short term car.

There are plenty of 1 series coupes with sensible miles and decent engines.

There’s a cracking 130i LE for sale which is far too nice for a winter car but would be a great buy. I’d probably go for this and end up keeping it.

If a 2+2 would work then you could get a GT86

Not really an SUV or 5 door estate kinda guy.

That 1 Series is a nice car but too expensive for what it is despite the good mileage.

Will look at the GT86 though, completely forgot about them.

I bought an impreza years ago, it was the last of the first shape ones, an estate, 5/6 years old and in exceptional condition. The interior looked a bit naff, seat upholstery was awful although really comfy seats. Very good ride, not hard at all. Then the snow came...
That car was awesome, uphill, downhill, corners, apart from stopping, you forget that 4wd or not, stopping is no better than any other car

Just to update this but in the end I opted for a R53 Mini Cooper S and cash in the bank instead.

It’s a 1 owner car, done just over 60,000 miles and has never failed an MOT.

It is more of a hot hatch than a sports car but it is great fun to drive and serves its purpose very well.

Well it took you a while!

Still you got there in the end, and it looks like you've found a good one.

Mrs Tidy had a new R50 followed by a new R56 Cooper and they were both great to chuck about - when I was on my own obviously.
