I thought this was both interesting and thought provoking. What do you think?

He covers a lot of bases with logical point of view and conviction. Well said and well delivered.......he should be a politician.
I would vote for him!

It's the way of the world, why shouldn't a there be openly Gay sportsman/women? If they are the best at what they do then why shouldn't they be allowed to excel without (fear of) persecution. I hope it happens in my lifetime

Excellent piece, impressive and reassuring coming from a US TV station and a guy of that age - the world is changing

I share your thoughts. At the age of 55 it has been difficult to come to terms with the subject of how society deals with the gay thing. This sports caster and many like him have made me reconsider ny own bigoted way of looking at it. My closest friends son has just come out and it has caused my friend to reconsider his views.
It just shows you how the belief system that we grew up with may not be as right as we first thought.

...and a comment like that, is just as welcome to me as is the sports presenters view.

Refreshing to see a response like that and someone taking the time to have a bit of a re-think.

I had a lot of friends in art school back in the early seventies and there were quite a few non-heterosexual people at the parties etc.
My neighbour back then was gay, the gay area was a block away and I never had any issues with any of them. My current next door neighbour is quite gay, we invite him over for drinks regularly, he's hilarious. He's just one of the girls ....

My only pet peeve is that the girls that are friends with gay guys are usually so effing hot it's crazy..... just a little envy there...

Moral: pretend youre gay and watch your hot female friends get changed infront of you..maybe you'll even let one turn you straight again

Religion does not help the homophobia in todays society, nor does it help racism

To sum up my views :
Religion is bad for dividing society and encouraging conflict
Gays are normal
Racism is ridiculous

We are all of this earth.

Agree with all the comments above, its really refreshing to hear an american to speak passionately and intelligently about human rights for the minorities. Good job that man!
