Sport seats

I have the standard seats and they seem fine to me. That said I have never much liked 'sport' seats as I do not like the raised sides.

I always have sports seats in my cars. The side bolsters can now be adjusted, so it should not be a problem for overweight people.

Zed without sport seats can be more difficult to sell. You can see so many people here talking about retro-fitting sports seats after buying one without.

I drive over 500 miles a week in my zed and I think that the standard seats are really quite comfortable, however they could do with adjustable lumber support though, which is an optional extra on both seats

My old zed had M sport seats and they were very comfortable and supportive, but the current sports seats, IMO, are not as good, in fact to me they do not seem much different to the standard seats, yes slightly more bolstering on the back, but not significantly different when you see them side by side.

My one piece of advice, spend the £600 upgrading the stereo, the standard unit is wholly inadequate, producing around 84 db, roughly the same noise level as an HGV driving down the motorway :(

hey, don't pull any punches ksher, why not just say what you think, that only slim athletic people should own a zed

.....and before you respond I know that's not what you meant :poke:

There was a thread months ago about sport seats. Some people would not feel comfortable because side bolsters of those seats are not adjustable. This thread just reminded me that different drivers would have different views.

Liked the look of the sports seats but I am afraid my 'girth' makes them feel really uncomfortable after a short distance so went for the conventional set up. Got them in my 325 but they are adjustable so OK as I can set them to the widest setting. AND at my age I ain't going on any diet for the sake of better looks both for the Zed or ME.... :P

Tut-tut you should think of your better half and slim for her , :) :) I like to keep in shape and I'm 65 & don't have a better half, also 5'11 and 10.6 stone, I would never dream of going out with a 'fatty' (sorry fatties) or moderately overweight and I would not expect a slim girl to date me if I was overweight/slightly

Suppose I'll get slagged off now by the forum fatty lynch mob :fuelfire:

All light hearted forum banter and no offence meant

Sports seats are not quite as aggressively shaped as the E85 style M Sport seats, but I love them. :D

I also like to keep in shape Kryton and my stats are not all that different from yours (height and weight), tho I've done less age miles. :P

Are sports seats standard on your new 911? I looked at Cayman earlier on the Porsche website, sports seats are optional.

Not sure there is no information out yet, will see what the standard seat's are like first :)

Would I regret not choosing sport seats?
I think you would.

Although as others have said, there isn't the same difference between them as there was on the E85/6. Wish they were more like E92 M3 seats.

Is there a huge diffrence?

In response to the original question, are you thinking of choosing sports seats alone or the m sport option? I'd say you might regret not having the m sport steering wheel more than the seats, but in my own (gym fit 30's) opinion, the seats are great. supportive, look good, and help to hold you in with the right adjustments. I previously had a 325i coupe 07plate, which also had sports seats and they made a real difference both to drive and selling on.

Oh, and I agree with the stereo comment, the business one is a must if you want to hear anything. I'd also go for adaptive lights and high beam assist - both cheap options which make a real difference to night driving (outside cities anyway).

Bad man - 6'3" 14st, not that big! But the sports seats just not designed for the larger man (and Mrs J is quite happy with the larger man  )
