The "sport" mode on the Z4, was that available from 2003 or did it start in 2004? Is it standard or an upgrade?

First, welcome to the forum...

The sport mode was available as on option/upgrade on the 2003 and that is still the case.

thx, some articles i've read out of the US say that the "sport" button was a standard feature on the 3.0i back in 2003, but i find that hard to believe since bmw will try to make money on you any way they can

Usually, with the 3.0 model you will get these kinds of options thrown in, similar to as you do with auto dimming mirror, electric seats etc.

From the 2003 USA Z4 Brochure....
