sport button .

Mine went as well, button stopped engaging. I pushed it hard and the button broke and fell into the console.

Ordered a new one, fitted and now works again - easy fix.

Does the orange LED light come on when the button is pressed?

What does the sport button actually do ? I've pressed mine a few times and can't say I notice much difference. On the other hand when I press it on my m135i...

Depends on the model. On a non-M it sharpens the throttle response & also the steering but on the ///M it sharpens the throttle response but can't alter the steering as it's rack and pinion with hydraulic power assist.

It lights up to let you know the gimmick is active. The only thing it does on the M is make the car undriveable at the traction limit. The throttle becomes an on/off switch with no possibility of accurate modulation.

I could keep my foot in the same position with sport button engaged while driving then turn it off and it would back off the power slightly so that's how I knew it actually did something.
Besides the insanteous throttle response when it was on

Yep, I experience exactly this.

Engaging the sport button on my car makes absolutely no difference what so ever....I'm fully aware of its function and my previous E46 M3 gave a marked difference in throttle response when it was pressed....so question is does anyone know what the problem could be and a potential fix,,,,having recently had codes read there is no registered faults ......?????

Like I said......

Have you had the button out of the console to check for loose connections ?

Anyone in the York area so I can compare another car,,...???

Secondly does anyone know if the difference replicates the sport button in an E46 M3,,,,having owned one previously for 4 years I'm fully aware of its impact in that car,,,,,,is it identical in the Z,,,??

Plowy, there is a massive difference in the throttle maps between on and off. If it's the same it's definitely not working.
