Never heard much good said about it, on the M. Pointless left over from the other Zeds in the range, where I gather it does makes some sence.

Still havn't ever pressed the daft thing. :o

How do you know it's useless if you've never tried it? :P

...

Did I say it's useless? :?

Agree if you drive in sport all the time it makes sence. You get to know the map. :driving:

If that little sport button helps one person smile a bit more then it's not all bad.

I find mine seems to adapt to my daily commutes in traffic etc and gets a bit tardy.

I've started resetting the throttle on Saturday morning before playing at the weekend, although I do have to remember all the nice white vans with cameras that hide everywhere in Staffordshire...

It also seems to make the Sport button more effective which I use coz I like the steering a little heavier too. :)
It's a shame that they don't all come with hydraulic power steering as it is a bit "floaty" and too light with the button off

I know most people will know this anyway, but the Sport button on the M is a lot different to non-M's. Its sole effect is to ramp up the throttle responsiveness. It is way more noticeable in the M than non-M's. I used to like my sport button on my E85 but I only use it on the M when I'm driving 'spiritedly' on the open road.

Thoughts of this thread made me use it on the drive over to my parents this morning. It did make a nice difference, felt good, brought me some smiles :D :driving: maybe I ought to use it more than I do.

+1..

Sport button always on,but it can catch you in traffic...

Plowy,if your feeling no difference then something aint right..

Does it light up when pressed?

Yes mate,,the orange led illuminates...it's defo not working for sure..I'm fully aware of the effect from my M3 experience...will try resetting throttle adaptation

As has been discussed at length in other threads you get better MPG with the Sport button pressed. Well at least you do in the E89 about 4/5 MPG so it's worth it just for that.

If I hold my steering wheel and turn the sport button on i can feel the wheel tighten and it moves slightly. Not sure if it does the same to the M though

The M steering is heavier than the standard Z anyway as it's hydraulic not electric... So I don't think the sport button changes the steering on the M... Or does it ?

Correct Bing. No change to the steering at all.

I've reset the throttle. WOW, a massive difference! Seems the previous owner didn't really stretch the car!
