Sport button might be coded always on?

Hello. The light on my sport button on my 2003 3.0 comes on and off when pressing the button, but makes absolutely no difference and it feels like it's on all the time. Tiny amounts of throttle give lots of acceleration and quite annoying after being in different cars.
I've tried the throttle reset, holding down the accelerator with the ignition on which made no difference. I've also checked the back of the switch and there isn't any extra gizmos.
I'm thinking it's been coded on, is this possible?

Cheers, Steve

I'm sure mine is stuck on.
I'll have to let someone else with a 3.0 near south Leicester have a go to confirm I suppose though.
Good for heal and toe anyway!

I've never driven a 3.0 e85, but lots of sport buttons back in those days seemed to do absolutely nothing. If you're not used to older NA large displacement engines (apologies if you are) you might well find the responsiveness a little surprising. Alternatively, could a previous owner have had the throttle remapped?

I've got a 2008 M3 with a similar button, and at a constant throttle there's a noticeable change switching it.
I'm thinking it has been mapped or coded somehow, but as suggested here not possible hmmm
Thanks for the input though

could a previous owner have the installed the "sport button mod"?

I was hoping so, but it's just the original harness behind it, nothing extra :(
