Sport Button - collapsed in to surroundings

Roof open button is on the the ashtray where the dtc buttons are.

Bavarian are a very good dealership and if you push and insist that it needs fixing I am sure they will do it.

I've had this exact failing... and the only two solutions are to try and fix it yourself (my attempt failed badly), or buy a replacement part.... and you can't get JUST the surround either.. even tho it's just a "push fit" onto the actual button!

Luckily, I asked on here, and found someone pretty quick who had a spare knocking around for a steal of a price.

However, as for the dealer, I'd go in with a cut finger and kick up a fuss about it being dangerous :P

Does surprise me with modial.. i'm sure a few people have had their roof motor fail and the warranty work denied. :headbang:

But i recon at a push they will do it, even if its under goodwill... the BMW dealers have been pretty good to my parents over the years... had thousands in repairs under goodwill outside of warranty period + pence for seals etc.

My sport button broke like this

The button is pushed in from below and secured with the clip from above.

So...I unplugged the button, glued the securing clip to it to make a complete unit, pushed the whole unit into the hole from above then plugged in back in...cushty!

Also for the record, my 'hole' is that shape too. So is the template hole on the other side for a passenger airbag button
