Sporr mode

Are there any negatives to driving in sport for extended times?
Is Sport mode meant for only showing off sometimes or do I have to pick and choose my battles?

I drive mine in Sports mode all the time. I’m more selective as to when I also drive with the gearbox in Sports mode too.

The only slight disadvantage, if you could call it that, is it’s probably getting driven harder so the fuel consumption drops........... quickly

Is it auto or manual?

Mine is a manual, so all it does is change the linearity of the accelerator pedal, so you get more throttle for less movement.
I'm told it also changes the steering weight, but that isn't particularly noticeable.

Only trouble I find with it is that it makes it a little jerky round town at low gear/low speeds, so its back to comfort for that.

If you have an auto box it makes changes to the way that reacts, but I have no experience of that in a Z, so will leave to others to comment.

All engine and chassis limits are adhered to irrespective of which modes and how long they are used for...

There may be some second order issues by using an engine at higher rpm for extremely long periods but in isolation it seems unlikely...

The primary issue is overall more wear n tear on brakes/tyres etc from the associated behaviour normally associated with people using sport or sport+ modes..
