Splitter colour modification?

Hi guys,

Interested in opinions, I have the maxton design front splitter fitted to my E85 and have a red/black colour theme going on with red callipers, red seats and door cards and red bars behind the grills. Do you think it look ok if I sprayed the bottom inner section of the splitter red? Kinda a reverse of the black section some people have on splitters. Did a mock-up on an old photo, what do you think?

It doesn't look awful, but it seems like one of those modifications people do when they've run out of ideas and just end up doing stupid things for the sake of it.

I would say keep it black. Sometimes less is more.

On the positive side it will be easy to tell when you've taken a chunk out of it on a speed hump!

Will look a bit too much IMO. How about painting your brace behind the kidney grilles? That would bring a bit of subtle red to the front.

Actually already taken 40% off the bottom on road humps, not much of the original splitter left now. Have already painted the bars behind the grills red.

Maybe change the bumper entirely for the Rieger one, what are your thoughts on a total change?

The big wide red strip doesn't work but how about a thin pin stripe in red along the leading edge of the entire splitter? It would be more subtle, if you had side skirts and did those too, the lines would follow through. Do a mock up as you have done and see how it looks from different angles.

Yeah might try another mockup with a thinner red line along the bottom

Those are ridiculous sized grills. No I was thinking more of the more standard Rieger one to give it a bit more of an aggressive front end.

If you like the idea then go for it. You could always paint it black again if you change your mind later.
