Checking the winter wheels and tyres are going to fit the car before getting them refurbed (they are red, there is not an option to refurb them after winter)
I found this

Damn.
I realise it's hanging down and that exaggerates the fact that there's a gap, and there won't be a gap when the wheel and the car is on the floor, but stuff may get in.
I have 2k to go until the inspection 1 is due.
Anyone had to change one? Quickest way? Top or bottom of the shock off?.
Or do I leave it for the inspection and get it done then? I'm not scared to get my hands dirty, but I start to get f****d off after about an hour of rolling around on the driveway trying to get seized bolts undone (a set of decent hand tools and a can of WD40 is what I have, no torches and not enought garage space, will be done on a jack I know I will have to buy/borrow some spring compressors)
I'm also guessing that I'm going to be shifting any alignment that's been done by changing this. is there any disadvantage to changing wheels after alignment to a different set?
